“SORCERY OF THE HOUSE OF DUSKRYN”
The peace and tranqility of reverie is welcome after any day, but more so after a long hike and climb, as well as entry into a new land. Elkintra had been fearful of the reactions of his first surface dwellers, and he was willing to pay with gold for tolerance, but the ones that he had met seemed fair enough. Even the big ugly coachman seemed like he might even be a man for turning and, if he was true to his word of introducing him to the Baroness’s party, might turn out to have actually been useful.
So, it was not without a small amount of annoyance that his reverie was interrupted. Screams, roars, banging and crashing – the old familiar sounds of violence! Time for action! He jumped up, buckler already on his arm and rapier in his scabbard. Already his Protean blood was simmering in anticipation of the Duskryn Four Point Battle Strategy:
Mobilise self! Mobility would be key, he reasoned, so his fingers shaped themselves into the sign of “Expeditious Retreat” as he vocalised the Draconic words that focused the magic and started the spell.
Ask Questions! “Who is there? Lore? Who are you fighting? Are you part of the Baroness’s group? Quick, escape through the window. I can help! I hate filthy, stinking ogres!”
Immobilise enemy! Bloodline powers should always augment the use of Arcane Magic, and his Protean bloodline could hamper the mobility of his enemies. Elkintra deflty formed his hand into protoplasmic shape to slow down the ogres.
Inflict pain and death! Where possible, use ranged attacks to cut down the enemy before they can engage. Then afterwards, use initiative to quickly resolve favourable courses of action.
A battle strategy is not something that one learns or remembers. It is instilled in the very heart and soul of every male drow through years of intensive training. One does not stop to think. One acts, and thoughts fly with one’s actions, augmenting them into dire consequences for foes!
